Series.
Nouveau Chapitre (New Chapter), Mexico, 2022.
During her life, the woman goes through different trials. Some are visible from the outside and others are invisible to others’ eyes. Either way, it can be difficult to feel good physically, mentally, and to love a body that seems foreign to you. This series evokes the search for a new sensuality and complete well-being. Colors and movements, getting out of the darkness, letting go of all frustrations. It is a "New Chapter" where we learn to love and rediscover ourselves.

Synthétique Naturel (Natural Synthetic), Mexico, 2022.
Of all living beings, humans are the only ones that create a connection between the natural world and the synthetic, consuming and appreciating both extremes. Synthétique Naturel highlights the natural necessity of food and the synthetic needs of clothing.
Finalist, Grand Prix Picto de la Photographie de Mod, Paris, 2022.
Overlay, New Zealand, 2015 remastered 2020.
Overlay is a series of self-portraits, that implies an intimate and solitary inner search for an identity. These are representing some cultures and countries I have been close to or lived in that have reshaped me and made me who I am. They have all left an impression on me, that has become part of the many layers of my bodily experiences. Covering my body with paint to embrace these layers, enabled me in some way to create new beings.
As this series is about my inner self, it was important that the creation and realization were entirely produced by me.
Nominee, The Fine Art Photography Awards, International, 2021.
Exhibited at Unitec (2015), in Takutai Square (projection on building, 2015) and in the McLeavey Gallery (2021) in New Zealand.
The Patron Saint Mother of Mexico, ongoing series in Mexico, 2017-present.
The Virgen de Guadalupe is seen as the Mexican representation of the Virgin Mary by the catholic church, yet Mexican folklore portrays her as the Patron Saint Mother of Mexico, being the most prominent religious figure in Mexico, a synchronism of the Mexican culture and catholic religion.
An apparition to Juan Diego, an Aztec converted to Christianity, the Virgen de Guadalupe requested a shrine be built on the spot where she appeared. Juan Diego had to collect roses in his cloak that he later opened in front of the bishop, revealing her image imprinted on the inside of his cloak.
Compared to religious images like crucifixes, commonly seen in private environments like homes and churches, the Virgen de Guadalupe can often be found in uncommon public places in the streets of Mexico City. Many of her images are hard to miss, bathing in vibrant colors with flower ornaments. Others, can be found in more subtle, yet busy environments. It is the juxtaposition of urbanized areas and the religious connotations of the shrines that create a sense of Neo-mysticism and cosmopolitan spiritual warmth.
While for many, religion is a private matter with dedicated places to go to, here you can find comfort with the Virgen de Guadalupe on your way to work, next to a school, in front of a car mechanic. She is like a mother keeping a close eye on her children, with her ever-present love in Mexican's day-to-day.
This is an ongoing series from the streets of Mexico City.

Birth, New Zealand, 2015.
Birth, to be born, most people would refer it to the moment the baby finally leaves his mother’s belly. All this time he was protected by the cocoon that the placenta is, warm and safe. Most people would say that from this specific moment and forward he is starting his own life. But is the mum’s placenta the only cocoon that the baby will ever be in during its entire life?
During our whole life, we will keep moving from one cocoon to another. We will create some by ourselves and sometimes others will make one for us. We are like the snake that changes its skin in order to grow. But our cocoon is more complex. Safe and warm like the placenta of the mother not everyone wants to get out of it but some find it hard to breathe in and rush to pull the strings to find their way out. It might be hard to believe but if you think of it just by being part of something like a culture, a belief, a family, or just by having habits, all those things combined together are the strings that create your cocoon. Isn’t it scary to leave home and its familiar environment to start a new life in a new place? And even if it is not, didn’t you just leave behind that routine life to start a new one? Didn’t you just leave your cocoon and start creating one of your own? Sometimes you just have to pull a little bit on the strings and see through them to discover new things. You don’t have to be afraid change is good. Take a deep breath, and live.
Mother Earth, New Caledonia, 2014.
New Caledonia is a fascinating country full of mysteries. There are mountains in the center that bend and take on the form of a mother. We grow from her womb, we imbued ourselves with her scents and we wear her colors.
This project is based on the relationship we have with our native country. We are part of it and it is part of us. On these images, using a projector and some images I took of places with deep meanings, I dress in the colors and shapes of my country recreating an intimate relationship with the ground that nourished me and helped me grow.
[To keep the veracity of the images, Photoshop was only used for a basic color correction]

Exhibited in the Art Center of Noumea (2014), in a private gallery in New Caledonia (2015), and in The Barrel Store in New Zealand (2016).
