Steelcase

Art Director Assistant / Editor

For this Steelcase Work Better magazine cover my main role was of photo editor, however, I also worked alongside the two art directors in charge of the project from the beginning of the process helping create sketches, researching, and selecting visual exploration for the mood board, lighting, and examples of positions for the model.

Background and model edition

In order to edit and compose the cover, I first worked on the image of the model. I used Photoshop to clean the studio’s floor, swap the head of the model, drastically change the lighting on the model, add extra negative space between the arm and the bust, and, morph the clothes in some places to create a better overall shape.

Under: the before/after of the lighting

During the photoshoot of the elements (moss, water, metal, cloth) I connected with the photographer and art director to give extra directions on the angles and settings as well as the studio lighting in order to get the best options to work with. I was part of all 3D rendering imagery meetings following the process and closely collaborating with art directors and the 3D artist to get the elements in the best possible dimensions and definitions.

Elements (3D render and photography)

I worked closely with the art directors to find what composition best suited the brief as well as with the design team to create some mockups of the magazine cover.
